October Events at the Oregon Convention Center

Fall is in full swing and the Oregon Convention Center is bustling with expos, festivals, fundraisers and more.  Portland is hosting a wide range of local and national events throughout October, from coffee and video games, to environmental conferences and award ceremonies. Here are a few of our favorite expos and festivals happening this month:

GoGreen Conference
(Oct. 16 – Ballroom 201-202-201-204)

There is no time like the present to help your company go green. The 2014 GoGreen Conference serves as a platform for regional businesses and government to share solutions for lowering our carbon footprint. Learn from the experts about sustainable systems, tools, and practices that work towards making your company environmentally friendly.

Coffee Fest
(Oct. 17-19Exhibit Hall D)

The Pacific Northwest has a strong coffee culture and Coffee Fest is known as one of the top industry tradeshows, both nationally and internationally. Coffee Fest has everything you need for your coffee fix, as well as tea, chai and other related products. Coffee Fest offers training, I.A.S.C. Barista Certification, workshops and educational resources to help coffee retailers evolve and stay on the forefront of coffee industry trends. Additionally, Coffee Fest will host both an espresso competition and the latte art championship.

Portland Retro Gaming Expo
(Oct. 18 -19 ­– Exhibit Halls A-A1)

Ideal for those working in the gaming industry or those old school video game enthusiasts, The Portland Retro Gaming Expo has exhibitors representing different facets of the retro gaming industry, exclusive homebrew game releases, and a panel discussion on Sega vs. Nintendo with Console Wars author Blake Harris and former Sega CEO Tom Kalinske. The expo is also proud to present the Fifth Annual Classic Tetris World Championship.

Wood Solutions Fair
(Oct. 22-23 – Exhibit Hall E)

The Wood Products Council, WoodWorks, presents the Oregon Wood Solutions Fair. Wood products are a beautiful renewable resource, particularly if you are building in the Pacific Northwest. The Wood Solutions Fair will host exhibitors and educational events on the use of wood in non-residential and multi-family buildings. Attendees can also obtain AIA/CES certifications at the fair.

The Governors’ Gold Awards
(Oct. 29 – Ballroom 201-202-203-204)

Celebrating Greatness in Oregonians, the Governors’ Gold Awards pays tribute to individuals, companies, organizations and communities that contribute to the greatness of Oregon. Proceeds from the high-profile dinner benefit Special Olympics Oregon.

Body Mind Spirit Expo
(Nov. 1 -2 – Exhibit Hall A)

Explore natural health alternatives at the Body Mind Spirit Expo. Offering the largest collection of holistic exhibits, this expo features products for holistic living, astrology, naturopaths and yoga. The Body Mind Spirit Expo will host live presentations and performance sessions, ideal for people who work in the natural health industry and those who are interested in learning more about the holistic lifestyle.
