As the crisp fall air fills with the scent of holiday spices, the Oregon Convention Center is bustling with events to put you in the holiday spirit, from mountaineering expos and festive fun runs, to holiday food and gifts and even natural health. Here are a few of our favorite upcoming events happening at the Oregon Convention Center:
Body Mind Spirit Expo (Nov. 1 -2 – Exhibit Hall A): Explore natural health alternatives at the Body Mind Spirit Expo. Offering the largest collection of holistic exhibits, this expo features products for holistic living, astrology, naturopaths and yoga. The Body Mind Spirit Expo will host live presentations and performance sessions, ideal for both people who work in the natural health industry and those who are interested in learning more about the holistic lifestyle.
Portland’s Annual Holiday Food and Gift Festival (Nov. 7 -9 – Exhibit Hall C): Get into the holiday spirit with Portland’s Annual Holiday Food and Gift Festival. The festival features arts, crafts and food products to help you prepare for the holiday season. The Holiday Food and Gift Festival has a range of unique and handcrafted gifts and holiday decorations, in addition to popular gourmet foods and candies, and the season’s first appearance of Santa Clause.
Mazamas: Portland Alpine Festival (Nov. 8 – Ballroom 201-202-203): The Portland Alpine Festival, hosted by local mountaineering group, the Mazamas, celebrates all things mountaineering. The festival will feature clinics and workshops as well as a ceremony commemorating the award winners of the Portland Ice Fest competition, a mixed ice climbing competition. In addition, the festival with host meet-and-greats with Alpine climbers John Roskelley, John Frieh, Aaron Mulkey, Libby Sauter and Graham Zimmerman.
Gem Faire Trade Show 2014 (Nov. 19- 23 – Exhibit Hall E): The Gem Faire Trade Show is one of the largest gem, jewelry making and bead shows in the nation. Find one of the largest selections of fine jewelry, costume jewelry, precious and semi-precious stones, crystals, gold, silver, jewelry supplies and more. The tradeshow also features jewelry workshops and a chance to win prizes every hour.
Ugly Sweater Run (Nov. 30 – Exhibit Hall C): Get into the holiday spirit with the Annual Ugly Sweater Run! Hosted by the Human Movement, proceeds from this 5K charity run benefit Save the Children, an organization dedicated to helping children in need. Race entry includes post run festivities, including a photo station, a chocolate station, holiday music, festive beverages and more.
